The Ugly Truth

The movie, The Ugly Truth is a movie that any one could watch and could connect to it with relationship issues. It tells the audience you can't look for love and try and find the perfect "one" you need to just let them come to you and this is exactly what happens in th movie itself. Staring Grey's Anatomy's, Catherine Heigl and 300's Gerard Butler, the two put together a great film. Gerrard playing the character Mike Chadway, a t.v host of his own late night cable t.v show, The Ugly Truth and Heigl playing Abby Richter, a producer of a morning news show one would think they would never come across to meeting one another. Finding out her show is on the edge of being cancelled Abby needs to add something to her show to put up its rating so the director highers Chadway to entertain the audience. Abby is not a big fan of Chadway's beliefs of men only wanting woman for their looks and sex and wants him off the show.

After meeting her new neighbor Colin in the most awkward situation she finds that he meets her perfect checklist for a boyfriend. Needing all the help she can get Chadway steps in to help him fall for her in return, and that is exactly what he does. Then after going on a trip with Chadway to guest star in the Late Late Show Abby realizes that Chadway is who she wants and Chadway feels the exact same way. So after all the trouble of searching for the perfect man and Chadway believing woman are worth nothing just someone for him to have sex with these two find themselves in love.

This movies proves the point of one cannot look for love it is something that will eventually come if it is meant to be. It is an amazing film and I recommend it to be watched by everyone, but especially the crazy woman that search and search for a man that does not exist to just find out the ugly truth of no one being perfect. Watching this film will make them realize that what is meant to be will find itself even if it has to be in the most complicated ways.

Assignment 3

For my third assignment in my English 101 class I have to write a paper that analyzes a commercial or print ad. I decided to pick a commercial about the new Call of Duty video game, Black Ops. The commercial is a bunch of different people of all different job occupations in the game shooting guns. There is of both men and woman: a doctor, business man, Kobe Bryant (professional basket ball player), fast food workers, construction workers, and more. The commercial shows that any one can play. At the end of the commercial the last person they show is the fast food worker with two guns walking shooting everyone, and I like how they did that because even people who have a low job occupation can be better than a surgeon. After showing the fast food worker the screen turns black and says there's a soldier in all of us.

In How To Write Anything on pages 386-391 it taught a hole lot about the correct ways tor evise a paper wich I never heard of. An awsome technique I learned was to put your paper aside for a few hours or a day then revise it with new eyes. Doing that task would let you see things in your writing you never noticed before. It would help notice if the requirement is actually being met in the paper, if the paper is directed to the rite audience, and if it has a flow to it. This reading actually helped me out a lot. I'm actually going to follow the technique of comming back to the paper to revise it. This technique can be tricky though because most students don't do their paper until the day before it is due, but following the tecnique you will have your paper done ahea dof time and a good chance to make a good revision.

Reading the section about Thesis's taught me a lot i didn't already know about them. I learned adding to your thesis after learning more about your writing as you go on in your paper really builds tou a thesis. Also, it is ok to change your thesis several times before you have the perfect thesis. I had no idea you could wait until the last sentence of your last paragraph to enter your thesis. I thought it at least had to be included somewhere in your first paragraph in either the last or second to last sentence. This reading also showed me better ways to write a good,lengthy thesis. I liked how at the end of the reading there was a table of what kind of thesis or how to use a thesis when writing a certain kind of assignment.

The link I am writing about is the second video, http://jrapp17.weebly.com/projects.html, this video showed how this boy learned all sorts of instruments and met friends. I liked how it wasn't just about instruments it connected to finally meeting friends. He didn't just get any friends, he found friends who have the love of music in common with him. Watching this video also helped me out for ideas on what I can do for my Visual Literacy Narrative of becoming cheer captain of my High School squad, but also the family of sisters I now have from being on the team. My girls mean everything to me and there's no other group of girls like them.
